National Artist Quarter

This proposal of the National Artist Quarter at Barangaroo is aimed at bringing the process of art creation back to the City of Sydney. The overarching focus of the space is to bring culture and artistic originality to the Central Business District. It is imperative to accentuate the practice of creating art rather than just displaying the end product.

The National Artist Quarter will allow artists to develop alongside their original style of art. An increasing amount of price rises of commercial plots is subverting artistic cultures from the CBD. The National Artist Quarter will establish and strengthen creative connections within the arts community and the public through art making spaces.

The space features rustic earthy materials mimicking an archaeological site. The archaeological ambience has been purposefully set, connecting traditional links to a contemporary setting emphasising the new form of Barangaroo reserve.
