There are no homeless people, but there are people who experience homelessness.
As the number of people who experience homelessness continues to climb, it is essential that we reconsider how we address homelessness in our public places as a community to provide meaningful, compassionate and lasting outcomes.
On Common Ground addresses this challenge with the design investigation of Belmore Park. The project seeks to cultivate empathy and accommodate the needs of people who are experiencing homelessness with site interventions that instill a sense of fulfillment, control, compassion and joy.
On Common Ground engages a city-wide discussion about how we treat homelessness in our communities, as a community.
