In Sydney the average worker spends an hour commuting to and from work everyday. During these trips we lose a sense of connection with our environment and the people around us. The Devonshire Tunnel and Henry Deane Plaza are uninspiring, dull spaces used by thousands of commuters daily. Visceral will create a changing, multi sensory experience to break the repetitiveness of the daily commute and strengthen the connection to the world around us.
Henry Deane Plaza is a gateway to the city centre and a central component of the the expanding Ultimo Pedestrian Network connecting Darling Harbour, Central Station and Surry Hills. Visceral will enhance these vital connections by creating a series of contrasting experiences that play with the sites qualities of light and dark, enclosure and exposure to engage and stimulate the thousands of people that walk this network daily.
