Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
The project site is located in North Eveleigh, extending from the Paint shop to the Redfern Station platforms. North Eveleigh Rail Yard is identified as a State Significant Site in the Central to Eveleigh Corridor due to its history and unique character.
This project enhances the human experience of the industrial heritage and urban ecology. It will transform the site from the post-industrial rail yard to an engaging ecological public urban park. Landform changes will create a transition area with great visual quality which will balance the urban qualities with the natural.
The adaptation of the heritage buildings into working studios and exhibition spaces will retain industrial values. The combination of different materials and native planting will provide various landscape types to establish human and wildlife habitats, including rock escarpment, wetland, grassland, urban woodland and urban forest.
