2016 Bachelor of Industrial Design (Hons) Graduation Catalogue

This online catalogue shows projects completed in 2016 by graduating students from the Bachelor of Industrial Design (Hons) program at UNSW. This year students have produced designs that contribute to health and well-being for individuals and the community in areas such as sport, communication, safety and transport. Each project demonstrates the integration and balancing of technical and functional constraints, user needs and user experience, resolution of form and aesthetics, and business contexts.

The final year of the four-year BID program at UNSW is an Honours level study achievement. In both the research phase and the design development, each student has undertaken independent exploration in a largely self-directed project. In the first three years students have built capacity for these projects in studio based design studies integrated with learning in diverse areas such as technology, communications, ergonomics, marketing, sustainable practice and design theory. The skills, knowledge and spirit of inquiry cultivated throughout the whole program are evident in these final projects.
