For Urban Search and Rescue personnel S.C.A.R.A.B. (Structural Collapse Assessment, Reconnaissance & Aid Benefit) is a first response drone capable of performing a preliminary assessment of hazardous or collapsed structures.
By providing rescuers with real-time audio/video communication and a durable steel amour, S.C.A.R.A.B. presents an opportunity for rescuers to survey and asses the inside of hazardous structures without having to risk their safety. Unlike other drones, S.C.A.R.A.B. provides a gas detection, an interchangeable track system that includes a magnetic tracks system for climbing ventilation ducts, self-extrication system to avoid getting stuck and a rack system for small payload delivery.
Whilst providing advantages to the search and rescue sector, S.C.A.R.A.B. can potentially present other market opportunities for the military and the mining industry.
